GI Appointment

--We were not prepared for all the information we recieved at Daniel's GI appointment.
--Dr. Authur is very concerned about Daniel's growth (his current weight is 16 lbs., 10 oz. and his current height is 26 1/2 in.). She said that Daniel should at least be in the 30th percentile on the growth chart. Daniel is in the 3rd percentile. She asked us to consider placing a mickey button and feeding Daniel thru a G tube for 3 to 6 months. We are hesitant to take this step right now. The plan (for now) is to give Daniel Peptamin Junior (a lot like Ensure). The goal is for Daniel to drink 4 - 8 oz. cans a day. He will also continue to eat regular foods and we will try to increase the amount of food he eats. Daniel will be on this "diet" for a month and be weighed. If Daniel shows a gain we will continue with the "diet" until January. If Daniel does not show a gain we will then look into placing a mickey button and tube feeding him for 3-6 months.
--Please pray that Daniel will gain without having to be tube fed.
