-Daniel and Caden had an appointment with Dr. Amis (pediatrician) today.
-Caden's appointment was for his 6 month well check-up. Caden weighs 15 pounds, 2 ounces and is 25 inches long. He is in the 25th percentile for both weight and height. Dr. Amis said that Caden looks GREAT. The only concern she has is that is head has a flat spot on the right side. She said that if it is not improved in the next couple of months that she would recommend using a cranial band. Caden's appointment ended with 3 shots - 2 in one leg, one in the other leg. Caden did not cry with the first shot but cried with the 2nd and screamed with the 3rd.
-Daniel's appointment was for allergy testing and an eye check. Daniel was GREAT when they drew his blood for the allergy testing. He laid very still and did not cry at all. I was so impressed, I tear up when I get my blood drawn. We are anxiously awaiting the results and hope that they are able to determine what Daniel is allergic to so we can hopefully prevent any reactions in the future. Dr. Amis refered Daniel to a new eye doctor (Dr. Morrison) at Vanderbilt. Daniel has been followed by an eye doctor since he was born and there is always been a concern that his eyes turn in. Dr. Amis feels that the condition has gotten worse and we have noticed Daniel starting to turn his head and squint his eyes to correct the problem. Dr. Amis felt that it would be best for Daniel to see a different eye doctor and we were very happy for a second opinion.
